About Me

Overview

I'm not really sure what I should say about myself however I'm 29 years old and I'm interested in classis cars. I also have a degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering so I've finally been inspired to use some of that knowledge to create this web site. I've spent the last 6 years of my life working in the oil and gas industry on international assignments so I get to spend very little time in the UK. This means the restoration of my Marco's GT will happen in short bursts of activity while I'm back in the UK followed by periods of no activity while I'm working or travelling abroad.

While trying to find photo's of myself I realized that I don't have very many interesting ones with me in them but I did find one of myself driving a speed boat off the coast of Kuwait.

Work

To explain what I do for work and for people to understand is almost impossible unless they work in oil industry however I'll give it a go.

My job title is "Wireline Field Engineer" and I work for a company called "Baker Atlas". The job involves lowering a range of electronic instruments into a well on the end of an electrical cable which can be as long as 7-10Km. These instruments send data back to a computer and is used by us to try and help oil companies determine what they have drilled into and if it contains water, oil or gas.

The main reason I took my job was to earn some money while getting enough time off to travel the world. There are still lots of places I want to travel to but I've seen quite a few in the 6 years I've been doing this job. Some of the countries I've been to are Angola, Azidaijan, Congo, Turkey, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Mauritania, Kuwait, Oman, UAE, South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. Obviously some of these were only for work but some were in my time off.

The pictures above are of some of the different places I've worked in around the world.
